Commodores Highlights
The Minneapolis Commodores are a community — one that gives its members a sense of belonging, accomplishment, and fulfillment.
This year's Barbershopper of the Year has been central to building and sustaining that community, reminding us again and again, in word and in deed, of the power music holds.
He was raised in a house full of music. It began with folk songs and the storytellers whose ballads taught him the joy of harmony — and how singing aids mental and physical health.
In his fifteen years with the chapter, he became a leading voice in his section, then carried that energy into quartets, a turn as show chairman, helping to drive and create new Commodores opportunities like MCX and North Country Harmony, and a chapter presidency marked by real vision.
He's fond of insisting he's the distant second-best singer in his own family — a claim his daughters might happily back up. We're not buying it.
To us, he is and always will be #1: the steady, presence at the heart of this chorus.
In sincere appreciation for his many contributions and his dedication to our chapter, the Minneapolis Commodores are proud to name
Tony Mason
2026 Barbershopper of the Year
