Thanks Doc .*** From the Uniform Committee: Bow ties will be worn for the 2010 Annual Show instead of straight ties. The bow ties will match our current vest colors – red, gold, teal or royal blue. At one of the side tables, there will be a list of the chorus members, by part. Please fill in your vest color TONIGHT, so we can get these ties ordered for the show. The cost will be $5.00. Thank you. *** From Dave Speidel: Stepping Out with Happy Feet!! So – you like to dance! Well how about that nice session that we had with Scott Kvigne? Based on reactions from everyone I think that we came away with a really nice plan. It has a lot of nice movement for the front row and some pretty basic stuff for the rest of the chorus. Just enough to keep everyone moving and loose. Dedicating the whole rehearsal had its benefits for learning the music as well. I think that the constant repetition was extremely helpful. Now if we can just remember it all. The combination of the Dance Medley and the Polka Medley at the end of the show will really get the audience juiced. You can see why I’m really getting on everyone’s case about keeping the tempo up on the Polka Medley. I don’t know why, but everyone seems to have an easier time of maintaining the temp with the Dance Medley. Is it because we had the professionally recorded learning tracks? Maybe. Regardless, the Polka Medley needs your attention to tempo detail. Once we take it up to the established tempo it has to stay there. We’ll be trying some new techniques to get this one ingrained in your hearts and souls. By the time you get this note, hopefully we will have rectified some issues and also gotten on the fast track for learning the choreo to ‘Puttin On The Ritz’. This is the kind of stuff that makes our shows exciting for our audiences. Let’s put our best Happy Feet forward! Wanted: A Commodore, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Power Point, to help me with Steppin' Out. Please see me(Dave)! David Speidel *** From Rich: SUNSHINE HOTLINE 952-829-7009 ddongna@usfamily.net Please remember our “injured reserves” with your cards, calls and prayers. Paul Wigley’s procedure went well last Wednesday and we’re glad to have him back tonight. It was good to welcome Paul Jahnke back to our practices last Tuesday night. I understand that Mary MacLaughlin, Dale Lynch‘s S.O. is back on her feet and driving again. Way to go Mary! Please also remember Dianne Ongna, Rich’s wife in your thoughts and prayers. Please keep me informed about our sick and ailing members. Rich Ongna *** From Diana and Carl: Tickets Announcement: Sell your tickets, pick up more tickets, and then sell them. Be sure to record the names to whom you sell the tickets on the yellow sheet. The mail orders are coming in very slow. That means you guys must pick up the slack and sell more tickets. Remember: It is more fun to sing to a full house. Thanks Carl and Diana *** Next Board Meeting: Thursday, February 18 at Wooddale Lutheran Church 7 – 9 PM Attendance: February 9 - 73 Mike Hojan, The SWIPE Editor Lakeville, MN
