We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the company of many at our place for the soup dinner. I couldn't believe how much soup and wine we went through!! It was fun, but now I just need to collect a small fee to help us cover the costs. (I had a collection cup out but not many people noticed it.) $5.00 per person would be appreciated except for those who brought food or wine. Dave Speidel and Gary Jacobson *** From Bill: We will be singing for the Veteran’s Day Celebration at 10:45 AM on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Fridley Community Center which is located at 6085 7th Street NE, Fridley MN (763) 502-5100. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who wants to sing on the show will be able to. If you don't yet have this uniform, please see Vern Johnson and he will work with you to see what he can come up with to get you on stage. Thanks, Mark Ortenburger *** From Rich: SUNSHINE HOTLINE 952-829-7009 ddongna@usfamily.net Please remember our “injured reserves” with your cards, calls and prayers. I apologize if I needlessly alarmed you when I reported last Tuesday that Lou DeMars had a stroke. His wife tells me that he did indeed have a stroke but back on October 3rd. They rushed him to the hospital where they treated him effectively and within a few hours he was alright. It was due to a medication he’s on being out of balance. He’s fully functional again and would have been at practice last Tuesday if election activities hadn’t kept him so busy. Vern Halvorson has been fighting an infection in a cut on his hand. The infection gave him some trouble (trip to ER, IV Drip, etc.) but he tells me he’s past that now and getting well. It was great to have From Rich (Continued): Lance Johnson back and singing with us last Tuesday night. Joe Bifulk is rehabbing at home. He tells me he has “graduated” from wheelchair to crutches and is doing well. He saw the surgeon again yesterday and was hoping to get permission to stop in at practice tonight. Loren Wuttke has begun the Chemo treatments again and they’re fatiguing him considerably. The strength of the chemo is also causing him some pain. Also remember Shirley Retter (Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma), and Paul Wigley (Prostate Cancer) in your thoughts and prayers. Please keep me informed about our sick and ailing member Rich Ongna *** From Doc: The Chord-Inator deadline is Wednesday, November 25. Can you do better than last month? Thanks Doc *** Attendance: November 3 - 80 members Board Meetings: Wooddale Lutheran Church – 7 PM • November 19 • December 17 • January 21 Mike Hojan, The SWIPE Editor Lakeville, MN
