Paul *** From Doc: Chord-Inator deadline is Thursday, October 29. I expect a plethora of Pulitzer-Prize-like contributions particularly about the District Convention. (Larry Daby is already preparing for his first masterpiece.) By now I am sure that every Commodore is thoroughly acquainted with the basics of RISER ETIQUETTE published in the October Chord-Inator (Vol. 63, # 9, Page 4, Col. 2, and October, 2009) and will be utilizing them at each and every rehearsal when our directors are up front and at break times during the chapter meetings when our officers and others are addressing the assembly. Optimal courtesy along with preparation at home will make our chapter meetings even more fun than they have been but most of all will make the Commodores an even better chorus. I know each of you will do his part. Doc *** From Bill: We have an opportunity to sing for the Veteran’s Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Fridley Senior Center. If you are interested, please sign up at for this event or see me if you have any questions. Thanks BillKinkel *** From Rich: SUNSHINE HOTLINE 952-829-7009 ddongna@usfamily.net Please remember our “injured reserves” with your cards, calls and prayers. Great News; Loren Wuttke tells me the CAT scan revealed the two tumors that were found have shrunk by a factor of 7. Now they’re starting him on a weekly Chemo treatment of a little different formula to prevent the tumors from “learning” to handle the chemo. Loren was feeling good when I talked with him on Sunday night. It’s great to see Luther Romo is back with us tonight. Shirley Retter has completed Chemotherapy and has begun Radiation treatments at University Hospital. The plan is to re-introduce her stem cells this week and go home by Friday. Then she’ll have a 6 month recovery period to restore her immune system. Glenn will not join us in Rochester because he wants to help his wife with her needs. Seeing as Paul Wigley is with us each week I won’t comment on him unless he wants something shared. Please keep me informed about our sick and ailing members. Rich Ongna *** From Mark: Important Rehearsal/Performance The Chorus will be performing at St. Andrews (Eden Prairie) on Saturday, November 7. It's important that everyone makes an effort to attend. This is our way of saying thanks to St. Andrews for being such great hosts and helping us out with rehearsal space when we have a conflict, often at the last minute, with HOP. .In addition to the performance, we're going to use this as a rehearsal opportunity to work on the music for our Holiday Show and our 2010 Annual Show. The current plan would be for us to start at 1:30 p.m., perform during the Saturday service and then have a mini-concert (4-5 songs). The Speidel's have graciously offered their house for a chorus get-together afterwards. Dave mentioned something about a soup dinner (hopefully not what we've been cooking up on stage during our contest set). More information will be forthcoming. Hope to see everyone there.
