So, PLEASE be here and ready to work the contest set next Tuesday (9/1). We ALL know that we can raise the bar higher than we achieved in Anaheim (which was still pretty darned good!) Paul *** From Gary Jacobson: Lead Sectional: Every Tuesday night before practice... 6:30-7:15PM. We will work on songs for our show in March. Please plan to attend this session, if you want help I'll be there. Gary Jacobson *** From Carl: Beginning tonight, August 25, we will be collecting registration monies for Rochester. The registration fee is $40 per person. The ADC show tickets are $10 each. Please stop by the table and take care of this tonight. The convention is only two months away. Thanks. Carl Pinard *** From Doc: Thanks to a plethora of contributors! The last issue of the Chord- Inator was exceptional. Two members (Yes, two !) even complemented me on the issue. If we can put out a similar issue (I need two successive issues for the contest) we would have a good shot at the top prize in next year's go-around. The next deadline is August 26. *** From Rich Ongna: The people that I’m aware of at this point who are on our “injured reserve” are: Loren Wuttke tells me that the last 8-10 weeks have been rough for him. He has some difficulty swallowing and he lacks stamina at times. Luther Romo had procedures done on August 10th to deal with a couple of aneurysms. He tells me he can’t drive for a couple of weeks nor lift more than 10 pounds for a while but he’s healing now and he sounded very chipper on the phone. UPDATE: Since I got that info from Luther he has had a setback. He has picked up an infection and the doctors had to do another surgery to remove some of the infected tissue. They have to repack the incision sight every day for awhile and he’ll have to do some rehab. He’s setting a goal for himself to be back with us in October. He still sounds in good spirits and he can have visitors & phone calls. Lance Johnson is recovering nicely from his rotator cuff surgery and expects to be back at practice Tuesday night. Welcome back Lance. Shirley Retter wife of Glenn has been re-diagnosed with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after several years of good health. She is taking Chemo to be followed with Radiation. Glen tells me the chemo is quite fatiguing for her. There may be others that we have been informed about and I’m not remembering. If so, forgive me and please tell me. Thanks.
