The SWIPE MINNEAPOLIS COMMODORES www.minneapoliscommodores.org March 17, 2009 From Paul: Hi guys, Plan for Tuesday: Warm-up, run the show…and BE ENTERTAINERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We’re 25th in the world- let’s act like it. Remember the exercise about singing at a ‘50’ level…then a ‘60’ level…and finally at an ‘A’ level?? This week HAS to be everyone doing their very best at ‘A’…all the time. Paul *** From Gary: Well guys It's Crunch Time! I'm enclosing a sample line-up for the show. I'll have "cheat sheet" copies for you to keep in your pockets. Please try to focus tonight and don't be surprised if a few more "visuals" are being added at the last minute. You guys wouldn't have anything to complain about if we didn't add visuals at the last minute. Here are a few last minute reminders Thursday is a very important rehearsal. All must be there! 1) First half costume.... Polo Shirt (with Logo) and (New Pants) Tan... comfortable shoes. Beach Boys (Front Row only Hawaiian Shirts and everyone bring sun glasses. 2) Second half... Hobo costume (contest set). If you provided props for contest bring them to Bethel on Thursday for sure. Please review all music and think about the song lyric. That is the cue for most visuals...your face and eyes make it believable. The Time is now..... Make it Happen!! Be ready to sing on the risers at 7:00 p.m. sharp. We have the hall from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. but we don't have any setting up to do other than perhaps for the contest package. The Gay Nineties will be there also. 2) Attached is our schedule for Saturday March 21, 2009 when we perform the “Gotta Keep Singing!” shows. 3) The time for pep-talks is really over. You do have some time to polish your performance skills (e.g. words, notes, faces and song sequence). Each of us should be all he can be! 4) Chord-Inator deadline is Thursday, March 26. I just know I will be overwhelmed with show stories (I will hold my breath). 5) George Johnson and I are driving down to the Mason City show on April 4 to see Crossroads. We have room for two more large people like us (or three skinny guys). Let me know.
