A great show- let’s start to PERFORM this stuff, now!! Paul *** From Doc: Chord-Intor deadline is THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26. DON'T BE LATE! We are going to be using straw hats (Skimmers) for the "square" part of Sitting On Top Of the World. The "old guys" will be wearing them. Those Commodores who have the hats from the early 1980s or others, please bring them to chapter meeting. We hope to have enough for at least the back row and sides of the "old guys" group. We have less than five weeks to show time and as of tonight you don't need music on the risers, right? Furthermore, it is your second nature getting into character, eliminating all distractions while on the risers, listening to and matching the vocal production of those around you, keeping your director(s) in view and following them, all the while showing the audience that you are having the time of your life. It goes without saying that we are going to have a memorable day on March 21. *** From Mark Ortenburger: 1) I have 2 group registration tickets for Anaheim that are available because of a change in plans. If you intend to go and have not yet purchased your registration please see me. 2) February 26 is the deadline for Anaheim Hotel Registration. The forms were distributed with the CHORD-INATOR 2 weeks ago. Please see me if you did not receive one or if you have any questions about the International Convention. *** From Bob Ostergaard: TO MEMBERS WHO HAVE JOINED IN LAST 2 YEARS! Dan Smith has made learning CD's of all music in our current repertoire (minus current annual show CD) Please see Carl Pinard. *** From Dan Williams: Re: 2009 Show Attire & Summer Uniforms The Show Committee has decided the attire for the show will be the Commodore-logo polo shirt and tan slacks with black belts and black shoes. Many of you already have a polo shirt; any color (blue, green, red or yellow) except white or black can be worn. I’ve been asked to order slacks for everyone to give the chorus a “more consistent look”. Sign-up sheets will be available tonight. Please fill in your waist/inseam sizes – all waist sizes 28-34, even waist sizes 36-54; inseam even sizes 28-34 & OB. Also, indicated if you need to order a polo shirt (size and color), as well. The slacks will cost $24.00, polo shirts cost $20.00. Please sign-up ASAP as I would like to place the order by Feb. 18th. This “uniform” will also become the Commodore summer uniform. See me, if you have any questions. The information can be emailed to me at: williamsda227@hotmail.com. *** Attendance: February 10, 2009 - 79 Dates to Remember: • Saturday, March 7, Bruce Odell’s “Joe Barbershopper” class, Bloomington, MN • Thursday, March 19, 2009 Show Technical Rehearsal, Bethel Hall • Saturday, March 21, 2009 Annual Show, 3:00 and 7:30 PM, Bethel Hall • Friday and Saturday, March 27-28, 10,000 Lakes Division Contest, Stillwater, MN • Friday and Saturday, May 1-2, LOL District Spring Prelims, Stevens Points, WI • Sunday, June 14, On To Fame Show, 3:00 PM Ted Mann Concert Hall • Sunday through Sunday, June 28 to July 5, International Convention, Anaheim, CA • Friday through Sunday, October 23-25, LOL Fall Convention, Rochester, MN Board Meetings: Wooddale Lutheran Church – 7 PM • February 19 • March 26 • April 16 Mike Hojan, The SWIPE Editor Lakeville, MN
